Pay rise!
Hourly pay rates recently went up. This now means you can expect to earn a base rate of $123.44 for 4 hours work. Featured extras get paid about 40% more. Loadings can add 25-50% more. Overtime, holiday and other allowances get paid on top. Residuals pay you again for work you’ve already done and TV commercials and print campaigns pay up to $10K for a day.
There are also perks to being on set like meeting great people, free catering and getting to see behind the scenes.
While the pay can be very good, mostly people do extras work for fun, as it is irregular and can be infrequent. Getting paid is a bonus!!
