More Originals to come from Stan
In honour of the commitment to add 30 original productions to its lineup this year, Stan has announced new drama titles along with an exciting partnership with Hollywood studio, Lionsgate.
The three local projects announced so far for the Lionsgate partnership are: ‘The Geography of Friendship’, based on the book of the same name, which will be made by Rose Byrne’s Dollhouse Pictures and Aquarius Films (‘Parent Up‘ and ‘The Unusual Suspects‘). ‘Population 11’, a comedy-crime drama from Jungle Entertainment (‘Wakefield‘, ‘No Activity‘, ‘Mr Inbetween‘) and a family drama set around a megachurch, ‘Prosper’, which is supported by Screen NSW.
A spin off of the hugely popular ‘Bump‘ series, ‘Year Of’ is also planned. It will be set in and around the senior years of high school featuring characters established in Bump Seasons 1-3. ITV Studios is managing international sales.
These projects join the already announced Australian drama series heading to Stan; Bali 2002 and Bump series 2 and 3, which include MCTV talent. Lots more to come on these exciting projects…
