While we can’t supply dogs or cats for TV commercials we were able to supply a handful of people for a new flea and tick collar commercial shooting this week.

About 400 people have been submitted as background extras for a new Olay commercial. Some of them are working out at the gym while others are watching a catwalk show.

Some of the younger members of our team had a crack this week at a role on a new Carnival Cruises commercial. Let’s hope they get to have a go on the awesome slides if they get the gig.
Every month, we have talent working on ads for the financial services industry. ANZ, Colonial First State, TIAA, ITP, ING, MET Life, OFX, Cashwerx, RAMS, NIB and Allianz are some of the commercials our people have worked on in the last 3 months alone . While some of them are a bit dry and boring, this ad from 5 years ago was an exception. ‘Barbara’ played by comedian Genevieve Morris is a hoot in this series of ads.
GetUp! is a great group dedicated to being politically active. It doesn’t matter what side of politics you are aligned with, GetUp is all about people having their vote and showing the politicians what we think. MCTV is proud to be supplying talent for one of their latest campaigns.

A handful of our more senior performers went off to the bingo hall this week to film a new ad for HCF. Although you might not expect it, we often get work for ages 55+. There are loads of banking , super and retirement TVCs where this age group is needed. It’s a great bit of fun and some extra income for the more vivacious retirees.
How would you like it if I paid you thousands of dollars every year for work you did over 5 years ago. It sounds unbelievable, but we have people at MCTV who are being paid like this.
Iron Jay is a perfect example of this. He was asked to be a part of a TV, online and photographic campaign in 2011 and is still collecting rollovers for the work he did.
When an actor is featured in a TV Commercial, MCTV negotiates fees for ongoing use of their image which will be paid for as long as the campaign is in the media. In some cases, this will include an exclusivity clause which can add thousands more to the fee.
Of course not everyone is as lucky as Iron Jay, but we do have hundreds of talent receiving rollover fees every year.
