67 MCTV People on new Youi Commercial
Another huge commercial to manage last week with 67 people to have on set at different times of the day. Well done everyone who did their bit. This Youi Commercial from a few years ago uses a continuous shoot with no cuts to give a really interesting feeling. I wonder how many takes it took to get the final shot?
MCTV People enjoying a glass with Jacobs Creek
This week we had a few people working on a new ad for Jacobs Creek. No doubt there was alot of relaxing and maybe one or two glasses of wine involved. It’s making me jealous.
Soul Mates is back and it’s going Nuts!
These crazy guys are back with stupid skits and I’m not ashamed to say I love it. MCTV had over a dozen people on the new series one of whom is featured as a junior Kiwi assassin (Well done Marley). I am so happy to say that they have released the whole of season 2 as a box set already on iView. I think I might be through the whole lot by Sunday.
The Habib’s are back and MCTV are submitting for the new series
Around a million people were tuning in each week to watch Here come the Habib’s. It was the first original comedy commissioned by one of the free-to-air commercial networks in 15 years. Let’s hope the success leads to more local drama and comedy. There were loads of MCTV people involved last time and we are submitting talent once again.
Submitting Hundreds for Melbourne Cup Campaign
This week we have been submitting hundreds of people for a new Melbourne Cup commercial. It’s bound to be a fun and glamorous day of shooting. Best of luck to everyone who has been submitted,
Wham Bam Thankyou Ma’am
Wham Bam Thankyou Ma’am is a brand new series to appear on ABC later this year. It’s one of the productions to come out of the new Screen Australia funding for productions for and about women. You can see from the trailer below that it is certainly from a fresh perspective. MCTV is proud to be supplying talent to this new production and have great hopes for it’s future on Australian TV.
Hacksaw Ridge Trailer drops – all shot in Sydney
MCTV had about a dozen actors on Hacksaw ridge who were on set regularly from October 2015 through to January 2016. We also had a bunch of other extras who were featured less frequently. It was a great opportunity for everyone involved and you can see how great the trailer is. Can’t wait to see this one when it comes out!
MCTV talent licking their lips for Smith’s Chips
A handful of MCTV people are heading on set this week for a new Smith’s Chips ad. Somehow this “Gobbledock” ad from 1987 was good when I was a kid, thank goodness things have moved on since then.
