Originally due to have been released over the weekend, the date has been pushed back to March 23 2018. That’s a longer wait than expected for the 199 MCTV actors who will appear in the film. It’s not so unusual to have to wait a year between filming and release though so it’s no big deal. You can see some shots from the film set below. You can see that it was a pretty unique experience.
The original Blue murder had people on the edge of their seats back in 1995. Both the main actor Richard Roxburgh playing Roger Rogerson and the director of the original series are back to make sure that this one hit’s the mark too. Toni Collette plays Rogerson’s wife and 95 MCTV actors appear in the two part miniseries too.
While there is dramatisation of the story, anyone who lived in Sydney from the seventies through to the nineties will recognise the story.
If you missed the first episode, you can get it on catchup at https://au.tv.yahoo.com/plus7/blue-murder/-/watch/36626637/blue-murder-killer-cop-sun-6-aug-season-1-episode-1/
I just wish I could find the original series somewhere online too. Luckily the old series is available in a 3 disc set at https://shop.abc.net.au/t/brands/blue-murder .
AthenaX is one heck of a character I am sure fans of the show would agree ! With her polarising and strong personality she has captivated both sides of the audience. Being a true protagonist of the drama, people just love to watch her no matter what.
We are happy to welcome AthenaX to the MCTV family and look forward to finding new opportunities for her on Australian Film and TV.
A handful of our actors have landed themselves an audition for a role in a new SBS crime drama. Break a leg guys!
As the production moves on from auditioning the main roles into production, there will no doubt be roles for background and featured actors too. Stay tuned for more.
We’ve all been anticipating the release date for Top of the Lake China Girl for months now. It’s a bit tough to hear that people in the UK are getting to watch it before us, but given that BBC Two put about double the funding of a normal TV series, I guess it’s fair that they get to see it first.
There are loads of MCTV people in this production (199 in fact) with shots from all around Sydney including some great scenes on Bondi Beach.
The first episode will air on Foxtel’s BBC First on Sunday 20 August at 8:30pm. I’m guessing that it will be another one that shouldn’t be missed.
Pete Hellier is hosting a new game show featuring two teams of comedians as they test test their memories across a series of general knowledge categories. Our stand-ins were there to help with the rehearsals prior to the recording in front of the studio audience. We often have stand-ins attend reality tv shows, the have to fit the rough build and colouring of the stars of the show so that the lighting sound and camera crew get a chance to rehearse camera positions before the live show. In this case, our team got to stay on set for the filming too as part of the studio audience.
We had a bunch of footy playing kids head off for a promo for the Fox Footy show this week. You can just imagine how excited they were.
Mr Inbetween is about a charismatic hitman Ray Shoesmith who also juggles the demands of being a dad, spending time with his mates and perhaps even having a love life. It’s the the first Aussie crime drama produced in this country by FX. Ray Shoesmith was a character in a mockumentary called The Magician a few years back, you can check out the trailer below.
75 MCTV actors appear on the new TV series The Pulse in both background and featured roles. Claire van der Boom stars as successful high-flier Frankie Bell and her life “is brought crashing to earth by chronic kidney failure (so) she targets an alternate future” . Checkout the trailer below:
