Another great goal for Maiko in Milo TVC
Maiko shot this Milo commercial back in December 2016 and now Maiko is getting a very healthy additional payment because this commercial is now being shown in stadiums too. Gotta be happy with that!

Over a dozen MCTV people worked on a new comedy pilot Be Your Own Boss. This is all part of ABC’s Fresh Blood: a joint initiative with Screen Australia designed to find and promote the next generation of local comedy talent. In the first stage, 20 diverse young sketch comedy teams were given $15,000 to create short TV sketches and now four of those teams have received an additional $75,000 to create a 30-minute pilot episode.
You can check out one of the other teams pilot’s below Koala Man (Strong Language Warning).
The Unlisted “follows 12-year-old twins as they work with a group of underground vigilante kids to stop powerful governments from imposing global control over the world’s youth.”
Aimed at 8 to 12-year-olds it is due to be shot later this year for a 2019 broadcast. It just received additional funding from Screen NSW and Screen Australia. More Info TV Tonight.
The World Cup sent everyone a little crazy with many late nights, heartache and hope. It provided a few good opportunities for MCTV people too with a featured role for Eva in a Hyundai Ad and this ad with loads of MCTV people for TAB.
Rove McManus is hosting a new comedy series all about the love of movies. Of course anything to do with movies has got us hooked, and it was great to be able to send some MCTV people earlier this year to be part of the promotional trailer. Check it out on the Tenplay website.
A brand new feature film has just started shooting in Broken Hill and will be coming to Sydney for a couple of weeks of shooting too. Locusts “is a dark drama about a tech entrepreneur who gets caught in an extortion racket when he returns home for his father’s funeral. It stars Ben Geurens, Nathaniel Dean”. For more about Locusts check out the Sydney Morning Herald.
A bunch of MCTV kids were picked to be in an ALDI special buys campaign last week. They all had a great time showing off in front of the camera dancing and jumping around. Now they get to brag to their mates too!

Well done Eva (Left in image) on your speaking role in this Hyundai World Cup promotion (Click through for TVC). It’s a great ad and you did a great job. I’m sure all your friends are really jealous.
A new 10 part psychological thriller drama is about to start filming in Sydney. Reckoning “explores the darkest corners of the male psyche through the eyes of two fathers, one of whom is a serial-killer. Like most men, Leo and Mike try to do what’s best for the people they love, the families they protect. But as both struggle to suppress their inner demons, the murder of a local teenager sets them on a course of mutual destruction that will emanate through every facet of their quiet, suburban community.” More info : Deadline.
Dead Lucky is a new thriller crime series from SBS starring Rachel Griffiths (click through for trailer). Loads of MCTV background and featured actors were involved with the shooting of this one and it looks pretty interesting from the trailer. A bit strange that we have two announcements in as many days with the word Dead in the title. I am starting to think I had better watch my back.
