Shooting has just started in Sydney’s Centennial Park for the sequel to the Peter Rabbit movie and as you can see it is already a hive of action. We’ve been sending people for go sees and castings through December and January along with wardrobe fittings and everything else that goes along with it. Everyone who is involved from MCTV is excited to be a part of what will be another great blockbuster I’m sure. A small number of MCTV people were lucky enough to be part of this No Activity Christmas Special. Premiering this Friday 14th December on Stan, it will be the perfect sardonic antidote to the relentless Christmas cheer. The trailer looks great, can’t wait to sit down with a mince pie and watch this one.

A huge honour for this local Sydney production to join a record line-up of Australian productions that will premiere at Sundance in January. There’s no trailer for Little monsters yet but the synopsis (below) has me very keen to see how this one turns out. There were 57 MCTV people working on Little Monsters so we are certainly keen to see it become a success.

A film dedicated to all the kindergarten teachers who motivate children to learn, instil them with confidence and stop them from being devoured by zombies.

It’s been a great year but we know it can be even better. We found roles for an astonishing number of people in the last year and have plans to make 2019 even better. Believe it or not, there are even more roles out there that are up for grabs and we want our talent to be getting bigger and better roles in 2019. For those of you who haven’t landed a gig yet, don’t panic. We are determined to get work for everyone that joins our agency but in some cases it takes a little more time than in others. While January is traditionally a quieter time of the year for this industry, we are expecting a busy one for 2019 with Peter Rabbit 2 filming here in Sydney.

Screen Australia has just announced funding for a huge selection of new productions. “The slate includes a musical comedy about moral corruption in the advertising industry called The Agency, a comedic horror Gnomes centered on grudge bearing garden gnomes in a fictional regional town, and a thought-provoking feature film Misfit to be produced by Bruna Papandrea (Big Little Lies).” More info on the Screen Australia website.
