MCTV talent had a ball working on this production and were even happier to have a little Christmas bonus in their bank account for the work they did.
This new series seems to be causing quite a lot of controversy on social media even before it has aired. As always there’s a variety of opinion on the Internet, some people are offended and others are in stitches of laughter. I guess we will all have to wait to see.
Streaming services are taking on traditional media giants and it’s only good news for the Film and TV Industry. With more and more productions being commissioned to cater for the increasingly diverse tastes of a global audience.
It’s happening here in Australia too, with streaming service Stan filming two new series Wolf Creek and No Activity. No Activity is streaming now on Stan and the producers have received interest from companies wanting to stream it overseas too. I personally loved The Moody’s and this one looks just as good.
With so many MCTV people working on Hacksaw Ridge you would think we would be able to give away a few secrets about the upcoming movie filming here in Sydney. Unfortunately we are bound by confidentiality agreements just as our talent are to keep the details a surprise until the big day.
Fortunately our local media make a sport out of movie rumours so here are the latest rumours and a few great shots from the set of Hacksaw Ridge. You can check out the source below for more gossip about the movie.
TERESA Palmer has a new man in her life — but her husband, fellow actor Mark Webber, has nothing to worry about.
MCTV talent have been shooting season 4 of Rake along with Cleaver Greene (Richard Roxburgh). Rake is one of the ABC’s most successful dramas.
It’s so great to see that Netflix in the US picked up the show and that it is currently the highest rated courtroom drama on Netflix. It’s a hint of a new golden age of TV with unprecedented access to global markets available to Australian producers.
In late 2014 180 MCTV Actors and Extras worked alongside Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford in the new thriller “The Truth”. Another example of MCTV placing more people in film and tv than any other agency in Sydney.
With all the new productions coming online in the next few months, there is bound to be lot’s of work for MCTV Talent.
What’s even better is that according to this review, “The Truth” is a gripping thriller about politics, war and the media. At least two of those you should avoid as discussion topics on Christmas day.
Truth is about the 2004 news story, aired on CBS’s 60 Minutes, that showed the new reality: you don’t have to be right if you attack a news organisation, you just have to be vicious and determined.
Over 40 MCTV actors and extras should be so pleased that Mad Max Fury Road cleaned up at last night’s AACTA Awards. With so many long days and very heavy costumes, the guys who worked on this production put in the hard yards. Of course, plenty of overtime was forthcoming and the pride of being part of an extremely successful production and franchise.
Meanwhile, the original Mad Max himself Mel Gibson is in town filming his own production Hacksaw Ridge. Production is still continuing with MCTV people attending shoots daily.
GEORGE Miller’s epic film Mad Max: Fury Road has been crowned the best film of the Australian industry’s biggest year at the box office since the 1990s.
It’s worth having a peek at the interview with Cate Blanchett about the local industry too. She talks about the magnetism of Australia and why we have so many talented filmmakers wanting to make their productions here.
“Australia is a very magnetic country”.. “people making films here are extraordinarily talented”
Finally, If you are up for a wild ride and haven’t seen Mad Max Fury Road yet, you should check out the trailer.
This week MCTV talent have been working on a new Commercial for the Salvation Army. It’s for the upcoming red shield appeal.
At this time of year, it’s important to remember the great work that the Salvation army does over Christmas. This TVC shows what a difference they can make. It touched me enough that I am reaching into my pocket right now to make a donation.
Even though the countdown to Christmas is already in full swing, MCTV talent are working on productions all over Sydney. For those of you with a good singing voice, feel free to sing the following to the tune of the 12 Days of Christmas.

The Daughter stars Geoffrey Rush, Ewen Leslie, Odessa Young and Sam Neill and contains performances from around 40 MCTV people too.
Recently shown at the Sydney film festival but to be released to the Big Screen in March, the daughter will be “Deeply involving and emotionally searing” according to Variety
We had a bunch of extras shooting a new air force commercial this week. Let’s hope it was as fun as it was portrayed in the movie Top Gun. Somehow I doubt that they let them into the cockpit of a fighter jet. There was no better ad for the airforce when I was a kid than Top Gun. As a sweet reminder of those times, here’s the video clip for Danger Zone featuring parts of the movie.
