Apes in Sydney
More blockbuster news with the announcement that ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ has started filming in Sydney. The film is expected to provide more than 400 local jobs and inject $128 million AUD ($80 million) into the Australian economy.
‘Planet of the Apes’ is one of 20th Century Studios’ most popular and enduring franchises, amassing more than $1.7 billion at the worldwide box office. According to Deadline, the movie is being shot the newly renamed Disney Studios Australia (formerly Fox Studios) and will be directed by Wes Ball (‘Maze Runner’). Cast members so far are Owen Teague (‘It’), Freya Allen and Peter Macon (‘The Orville’).
