SXSW Heading South
For the first time in its 35 year history, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals is expanding beyond Austin, Texas, bringing its famed celebration of the tech, film, and music industries to Sydney next year.
Hosting the festival will be a huge boost to our film industry, promising a range of film oriented talks, events, premieres and outdoor screenings. Hosting the festival will cement Sydney’s reputation as the leading place for film in the Asia Pacific region.
The festival will across seven days and nights from October 15-22, 2023. Speakers and performers will be announced in the coming months; the likes of Barack Obama, Kendrick Lamar, Jordan Peele, Dave Grohl, Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Taika Waititi and Prince have appeared at SXSW Austin over the years.
