New Netflix Comedy to NSW
The steady stream of International productions heading to Australia continues. Netflix’s new comedy series God’s Favorite Idiot will be filmed in NSW. The series stars and is co-executive produced by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, Falcone has also written the script. It is a workplace comedy about a mid-level Tech support employee Clark Thompson (Falcone) who finds love with co-worker Amily Luck (McCarthy) at exactly the same time he becomes the unwitting messenger of God. Netflix has commissioned 16 episodes of the series.
Married couple, McCarthy and Falcone, fell in love with Australia while McCarthy has been here working on Nine Perfect Strangers. They said “To have the opportunity to safely film our show in a beautiful country like Australia is a dream come true. We love this country, and the talented people who live and work here.”
