Carmen in Sydney

Filming on the modern musical reimagining of  Carmen has commenced. Stars Paul Mescal (Normal People) and Melissa Barrera have been spotted in Sydney and remote country NSW locations, which will represent America and Mexico on the big screen. The movie follows Carmen as she is forced to flee her Mexican border village into America. Aidan, a broken ex-marine, is guarding the border with other volunteers, but ends up protecting Carmen and the two flee, one a criminal and one an illegal immigrant.
